It seems my nose is much too short and should be closer to my mouth.  Also, my eyebrows are all sorts of not right.  I have no idea how mine are so far off.  Plus, apparently I need more of a HUGE ASS JAW.  But whatever you say face mask thing.  Also, for reference, I’ve found a quite good and almost perfect picture so you can see where the lines are supposed to fall.

Honestly I think the moral of the story is, that your face can look quite different from the golden ratio… it’s all about hair and makeup! Haha

Thankfully, I have MUCH to distract myself with during the day.  I started a new world in minecraft.  I’ve already got a few dogs, a smelting room, a beautiful bedroom, a mine, an outdoor farm, a green house, and more!  I’m desperately trying to find SNOW, to no avail (it really is a big issue).  Also, I’ve started playing Osu! again, which is so hard to get back into after being away for so long.

AND OMG SAMURAI JACK IS ON THE TV, HOW EXCITING!

So in conclusion, my past, present, and future are all trying to kill me and I’ve still got to get a job somehow!

I won’t go into details about his reasoning, and I don’t want to bad mouth him.  Although, my first reaction, and the feelings I still have, are anger and betrayal.  But, for now I’m doing a magnificent job of ignoring the whole situation.  It hasn’t really hit me yet.  Only time can tell how I’ll end up after this.

In better news, I finally finished uploading all the pictures from my vacation… it just took me forever.  I hope you guys will check them out.  Although, at this point I think only Edward is reading my blogs.  I know a few other people were at one point, but when I don’t get comments from people (either on the blog, or in real life), I start to assume they’ve stopped reading it.

That may be why I’ve stopped writing.

I feel like I’ve come to a point in my life where everyone is too busy to read my ramblings, and I’m too busy to write them!  Maybe this blog will end soon… maybe.  At least, until I have something to say for myself again.

SO ANYWAY, enough of that… for some reason the idea was stuck in my head and I just felt like writing it out.  Bleh, once again I’m writing this instead of studying.  It’s just really hard studying biology at 9 o’clock at night… so dull!  Anyway, some quick updates.

If you don’t follow my facebook well, here are some things going on right now.  My phone has been dead for many weeks now.  Nathaniel and I tried to fix the charger, but we made it worse and even killed the battery.  I ordered a new charger and battery on ebay… we’ll see what happens.  I’m hoping every night night that my phone will still work…  Also, I’ve bought a ukulele and already learned a song!  It’s really hard to memorize something so long and with such little variance.  There’s no melody!  Also, I’m not a very good singer.  Nathaniel said I should just practice more, so that’s what I’m doing!  Also, I bought pokemon black and haven’t stopped playing since.  It’s terrible!  I’m playing it more than minecraft! (only because its portable, I swear)  I’m really having a hard time avoiding addictive things in my life right now.  I’ve restrengthened my resolution to avoid sweets, and I haven’t gotten desert in teh dinning hall for almost a week now!  You say that’s not very good, but I’d been eating something horridly unhealthy at almost 2 meals a day for a while there.  NOT GOOD.  So I’ve stopped that, and next on my list is to start working out again.  I’ve been running places instead of walking when possible, but that’s certainly not enough.  Now that it’s quite warm out, I think an outdoor run would be lovely.

Anything else?  Meh… well I’ve finally come up with an idea for a tattoo, although that doesn’t mean anything will happen in the immediate future.  It just means I finally have an idea to work with now.  A ukulele AND a tattoo?  Damn I’m finally getting some things done.  Finals are in less than two weeks, and I’m horrified about it.  So much is riding on my future.  If you didn’t notice (once again) I’m considering medical school at this point, although I use considering loosely.  We’ll see what becomes of that.

All this talk about the future makes me sad.  I hate having a job and having to work for the money that buys me food.  I don’t want to grow up and have to work for a living.  I’ve come to realize that even when it’s something you enjoy, that doesn’t mean it’s not work.  Reffing soccer is draining the life out of me.  Of course that doesn’t end when school is over, I keep doing that over the summer back home.  And now I can’t stop imagining my Petilil using megadrain on me… oh goodness.

Okay I need to go for now, way too much work to be here… man am I going to end every post that way for the rest of my school career?  XD

So on Friday I got to see something quite amazing.  I got to see the Video Game Orchestra.  They combined with some Berkley musicians to perform a concert called Back To The Future: two generations of film and video game composers.  Here’s the setlist

So some of it was really amazing.  I remembered the Back to the Future music quite fondly.  Also, the Lord of the Rings was QUITE epic, although I couldn’t help but sing THIS in my head the whole time.  As far as the game music went… Nathaniel’s mother got a very creepy solo for the Myst song, which was horrifying enough with my nightmarish memories of that horridly terrifying game.  The songs I didn’t know were all so good.  The Final Fantasy VII suite was obviously my favorite.  It was the longest of all the pieces of the concert (obviously) and they devoted quite a bit of the song to One Winged Angel, in fact they played through the whole song.  I was quite thrilled to hear it played out in person and sorta freaked out when they started playing it.  The music from Chrono Cross was also quite amazing too!  All in all, free video game concert = FOR THE WIN.

Also, yesterday I bought a Ukulele, albeit a pretty cheap one.  I’ve been learning to play some chords since then (yes instead of homework).  I’m having a really hard time focusing on homework now that it’s finally getting so nice out!  There’s a Japanese garden at the Museum of Fine Arts that I’m going to as soon as possible.  For now I’m just munching on some delicious Japanese food and listening to One Winged Angel and some vocaloid music. 

Gosh, so many things I have to DO… anyway, that’s all for now!

P.S.  Today at Panara I saw they were selling hot crossed buns, I couldn’t stop laughing at the idea that they still existed.  I’m just shocked they cost more than a penny!  Such injustice!  I hope you get my joke here 

Anyway, so today was the St. Patrick’s Day Parade in Boston… the second biggest in the country if you must know.  It was really fun, but also a lot smaller (and less populated) than I both remembered and expected.  All in all, I was pretty upset because of THIS horrible occurrence.  No more sunscreen-less excursions for me!

Ugh so what has been going on lately?  NOTHING… just studying studying YEAH, studying studying YEAH, fun fun fun fun…. OMG YOU SEE WHAT HAS BECOME OF ME?  If you have no idea what’s going on, you should probably check this out.  I’m sorry for what I’ve just done to you.  Damn I can’t get it out of my head… argh!  >:(

So yeah, other news… I DON’T have mono, even though the doctor assured me that’s what it was… sort of disappointing that I’m just frail and sick on my own.  Oh and by the way, the  doctor informed me that I was anemic, fanTASTIC… she told me I should start taking a multivitamin, which is a great idea, except I ALREADY TAKE ONE.  >:(

I’m pretty sure my whole body is degenerating into a state of constant sick/easily injured.  I’m making an effort to change that.  I want to get back into exersie.  But not just running, I want to get into more… strengthening things, like rock climbing and slack lining.  Speaking of slack lining, it’s SO POPULAR at my school.  Every day now there are at least 2 lines up.  Once again, if you don’t know what that is, check it.

Pluuuus, I gauged my ears up to their final size, 6.  The result was both pain and an ear infection.  I’m currently trying my best to handle it on my own with salt water washes and antibacterial.  Don’t worry, it doesn’t look terrible, it’s just red and warm feeling (and a tad painful).  Hopefully it will get better and I won’t have to go to the doctor all embarrassed like.  We shall see!

Now if you’ll excuse me, I REALLY have to get back to studying.  Although with some girl in my dorm having a VERY loud argument right outside my door with her mother (over the phone), I don’t know how much I’ll get done.  Curse you easily distracted brain!!!  D:

Next, I show you the pictures of my DELICIOUS melon bread (メロンパン) I made.  I was beyond shocked it came out so delicious, seeing as this was my first time making bread, let alone baking!  It took over 4 hours in total and was QUITE troublesome… anyway, tadaaaa!

Okay so they don’t look as delicious as they were, but I really to swear they were good.  Some time I must make more.

Man, I still have soooo many pictures I have to sort through.  I was planning on going to bed really early tonight so I could do homework tomorrow morning, but in the end I got caught up with the pictures.  XD

Well, I’ve got a little catch up to do with some 200 photos I have taken over the past few months that I’ve been too lazy to sort.  Maybe you guys will get some fun picture blogs.  For now, I leave you with  this little poem I wrote just now.  I wrote it on my trip back from Boston to New York (for spring break).  It was incredibly beautiful for about an hour or so, so I just had to write about it.  XD

Great trees pulled down by their own snow laden bows

Ice gleaming brightly on every branch

Sending the sunlight dancing from tree to tree

They shimmer like a forest of crystal and glass

Soon the sun will free you from your weighty burden

But for now it illuminates your silver-gilt wears

Miles of silence and unbroken snow

Giant rises of rock to the left and right

Each one with thick waterfalls of ice frozen in time

Lucky am I, the visitor to your frozen world, that I may gaze upon you

I always thought I could write a good line or two, but never a cohesive piece.  Maybe I should practice more?

Well, this had lead me into watching many videos on both evolution/creationism and just science vs. religion in general.  I’ve seen some really stupid claims, like The Atheists Nightmare and this Peanut Butter Nightmare. These people are very laughable.  I’ve also found wonderful and beautiful videos like Science Saved My Soul.  My favorite line from that video (which I really recommend you watch) is “there might yet be a heaven, but it isn’t going to be perfect and we’re going to have to build it ourselves.”

The problem with all this is that I cannot even begin to tell you how ANGRY I get when I watch a video of someone claiming to be providing obvious proof that evolution is wrong, or that science is wrong and religion is true when THEY’RE VERY OBVIOUSLY SPOUTING EASILY DISPROVABLE BS!  My issue is that I can’t actually DO anything.  Does posting one random comment on a youtube page really change anything?  Does sending an angry (or polite) email to the creator of said video or content really get you anywhere?  Honestly, no!  Maybe a discussion with someone in person could have a chance at changing someone’s mind, but even then most people will never change their mind.  It’s just so frustrating to me that I feel so helpless in this battle for ultimate knowledge.

Now some people might say, ignore it because it doesn’t matter who’s right or wrong.  But I beg to differ.  I find that it is our human duty to try to discover all truths and to try to share them with the world.  Imagine someone with a nut allergy who has no idea that macadamia’s are nuts.  This could cause them great trouble, could it not?  I think all information in life is similar.  If someone WANTS to know the truth (and you just so happen to know it), it is your duty to share that information with them.

Now of course the problem becomes that everyone thinks they know the truth and everyone else is wrong.  This, in turn, causes many of the arguments that happen between religion and science.  But I feel that the issue isn’t that we’re trying to find the ultimate truth (and share it with everyone else) it’s that we’re often so closed offed to other ideas once we’ve decided what we want to believe, that no one can ever really let it sink in!  I, of course, suffer from this delusion myself.  I can see there are things which I believe in almost religiously.  But it’s a trait I’m trying every day to change!  I have heard people say to me my problem is that I always think I’m right.  Well, shouldn’t you think you’re right?  What kind of person holds an opinion that they may think is wrong?  If you have doubts about an idea you hold, shouldn’t you not even bring it up?  Or at least, when you DO bring it up, you preface it by saying you’re not sure about it.  So of COURSE everything I bring up I fully believe to be true.  How else does it work?

I think the important thing people miss out in these circumstances is that you cannot expect someone to change their mind if you do not provide evidence.  In fact, it would be irresponsible to change your mind without proof!  You and I all know there are countless urban legends we all believed when we were kids for no good reason.  Daddy long legs are really the most poisonous spiders in the world but their mouths are too small to bite us, right?  (wrong, obviously… here are some other urban legends)

So, the next time you have a discussion with someone over a major topic, don’t just walk away saying the other person is helpless and will never change.  Keep in mind that you cannot and should not expect to change anyone’s mind based solely on demanding they take on your opinion.  You must provide examples of studies that prove your point, or principles that support it, or maybe some sort of discovery, or any other kind of factual evidence.

Obviously we never tend to stick to this, or else each time our Chemistry teacher tried to tell us that atoms were positively charged and electrons were negatively charged, we’d have to demand he shows us the exact experiments that determined this!

But the least we can do is never expect someone to change their mind if you don’t have evidence, and don’t go into a discussion without having proof to back up your own claims.

Wow… that was WAY longer than I ever thought it’d be… haha sorry if I turned this into a rant.  I wonder how many of you will read the whole thing?  Please leave your replies on what you think about all this!  And don’t hesitate to tell me I’m crazy!
